Is it okay to have Convict and Jack Dempsey cichlids together?

I have a 29g (i know i know, not really the best for cichlids but its all I got) and I want to put in 2 Jack Dempseys (1m 1f) and 2 Convicts (1m 1f), so obviously I want fish babies!! do you think it will be okay to have those two together when theyre breeding and being all territorial? I heard Dempseys are extremely aggressive and could ruin a tank but they are so pretty! i just dont want to come home and see my convicts floating around being munched on./: any advice is greatly appreciated!
