It is not about words, but laws. If you plant corn, corn always comes up because kind always comes from kind. So God tells you that if you do not obey Him, you will be lost. You cannot mock laws (which are truth) because it is set and will not change just because you say it has changed. Live your life as if God does not exist, but one day every knee will bow and be judged by those laws of God and before God.
