How can suspects in "To catch a predator" be convicted?

I agree with you completely, but unfortunately they can charge them with "intent," which I think is ridiculous because as you said the whole thing is made up. Intent to have sex with someone who doesn't even exist. I'm not endorsing pedophilia, but it seems wrong to use this method to catch these people.
